A Week in the Life gives us a chance to showcase our incredible team at HNC.

In this edition, Atikah Malik tells us about her roles and responsibilities, as well as provides insight as to what life working at HNC is like.

How long have you worked at HNC?

I have been at HNC for 15 months.

What is your job title?

My job at HNC is an Application Specialist.

What are your main responsibilities and duties at HNC?

Working with NHS Trusts and private clinics to deliver their ViewPoint product. This includes customising it to their needs, ensuring they are trained to a high standard and it interfaces correctly. We work from the very beginning of the project right up until post go-live, to ensure a smooth delivery.

What does an average week look like?

Every week is different. Sometimes I work from home and other times I work on-site. Working from home is a mixture of emails, meetings, customisation sessions and training sessions (all of which are done remotely). My schedule is quite flexible, so that I can ensure that meetings can be catered around the client’s availability.

Working on-site is very different. We travel to the hospital’s site and support users as they first start to use their new ViewPoint system. There’s a lot of floor walking involved, so I find that I’ll usually be on my feet most of the day. This is quite a contrast to sitting at the desk all day when working from home, so I really enjoy the mixture.

What do you enjoy most about working at HNC?

Being in charge of my own daily schedule, and the mixture of working from home and being on-site. I also really like chatting to my colleagues, our team is so friendly and it’s a very supportive work environment.

How has the business developed since you started?

During my time at the company, I have seen us become even more busy. There’s more to do and more work coming in. It keeps me on my toes and excited to see what’ll come next.

What excites you the most about work at HNC?

I find it exciting when projects go live, it is great to see months of hard work come together successfully. No project is the same, they all come with their own challenges, and I really enjoy being able to work through them.

Where do you think HNC will be in five years time?

I think the company and the work we do will have grown significantly.
