A Week in the Life is a series of blogs that explores what it’s really like to work at HNC. In each edition, we get to know a member of the team, who shares their experiences from the day-to-day workflow to working with others at the company.

This month, our we spoke to Northern Account Manager Lynn Parkington. She shares managing accounts, developing business, and how she had to adapt how she works after the pandemic.

How long have you worked at HNC?

It’s nearly 4 years since I started.

What is your job title?

My role is Northern Account Manager.

What are your main responsibilities and duties at HNC?

My key responsibilities are managing accounts and developing business opportunities.

This entails reaching out to customers and supporting them in their procurement process, being their point of contact for information and advice, and helping with any requirements needed.

What does an average week look like?

My weeks are quite varied and do depend on customer needs.

Since the pandemic, my work has changed a lot as I now generally work from home. I have regular contact with my customers by either email or Teams.

Usually, I pull together meetings for demos, presentations, and technical discussions with my customers and colleagues.

I ensure that all stakeholders involved in potential projects have been given information and support and importantly an understanding of ViewPoint in order to progress their plans.

What do you enjoy most about working at HNC?

I really enjoy the feeling that HNC are like a ‘family’.

How has the business developed since you started?

Only a couple of months after I started we went into lockdown and the way we worked had to change drastically, it was a big shock for me after always being on-site with customers in person.

However, we have been really successful in growing our business, and really successful keeping our customers supported.

What excites you the most about working at HNC?

I think it’s the ViewPoint product and how it enhances the workflow for my customers.

Where do you think HNC will be in five years’ time?

In five years time HNC will be continuing to grow both product and our team.
