Every month, we catch up with a member of staff at HNC, where we find out what it is like working for the company, and what their roles entail.

This month we caught up with Christopher Khokhar, who spoke about working at both our offices as well as on locations, helping to integrate our services.

How long have you worked at HNC?

For one year and seven months.

What is your job title?

I’m working as an Application Specialist for HNC.

What are your main responsibilities and duties at HNC?

My main responsibilities consist of leading an implementation all the way through from
project kick-off to the handover to the business-as-usual team.

As a project lead, I collaborate with teams making sure individual projects are delivered on
time, and ensuring that it is delivered without any issues and to the client’s specifications.

For example, when specialising in ViewPoint, I make sure that the configuration suits the
customer’s needs, whilst also being able to work effectively and smoothly in the relevant
department so that it is ready to be rolled out to staff.

What does an average week look like?

Each day is different. It quite often involves testing, troubleshooting and resolving application issues. I also spend a lot of time adapting techniques and interpreting or modifying actions to achieve objectives within the agreed project scope and deliverables.

There is a set routine to follow the process for each task, working primarily remotely, but also travelling to customer sites as necessary, particularly for the project go-live.

I travel to the hospital’s site and support users as they first start to use their new system, such as ViewPoint.

There’s a lot of walking involved, short sharp training sessions and assistance which I enjoy. I find that I’ll usually be on my feet most of the day! This is quite a contrast to sitting at the desk all day when working from home, so I really enjoy the mixture.

What do you enjoy most about working at HNC?

I really enjoy working at HNC. The whole team is full of nice individuals who make working every day so much fun and I love managing my own projects.

How has the business developed since you started?

During my time with HNC, we have gained a lot more hospital trusts and private clinics that are using our services which is great. This expansion has meant that the company has also grown, with lots of new employees to cater for the needs of our customers.

What excites you the most about work at HNC?

One thing that I find the most exciting is interacting directly with our customers, helping them to get the most out of the software.

I also really enjoy spending time with my colleagues, so I always look forward to staff events!

Where do you think HNC will be in five years time?

Every day we keep on developing as a business, so in five years’ time, I think that we will have even more customers and a much bigger workforce.
